Megan Lambert aka. An English Woman Abroad
Hotel Consultant | Travel Writer | India Specialist
Born in Cape Town, marinated in the UK, I now call India home. Whilst studying, summer holidays were always spent escaping to somewhere more exotic. It was during one of these adventures that the love affair with India began. After a stint at one of the UK’s leading luxury tour operators, I decided that London was not for me, and booked a flight bound for Indira Gandhi International airport. Beginning work with a multi-award winning luxury camping venture, my job took me as far north as Ladakh and as far East as Nagaland. Now working as a freelance writer and hotel consultant, my travels have taken me there and beyond. A regular contributor to I-escape and The Hotel Guru, I have written for Travel + Leisure, SUITCASE, The Times of India, and Vice.
Boutique hotels are my passion, and I have made a living reviewing them. I relish the personable experience: you are so much more than a room number and a luggage tag. An English Woman Abroad is a collection of some of my favourite hotels and properties across India. I’ve stayed at the best, the worst, and the downright average, so you don’t have to. Because travelling in India should be an adventure; not a minefield.
